The English Eleven foe Australia. — The Nottingham Guardian of Saturday 21st April, had the following respecting the visit of an eleven from England : — " We have received a letter from <reorge Marshall by tbis mail, in wbich he states: — " In this speculation I am associated with three other residents of Melbourne, and the terms we offer are as follows, viz., £150 for each man, together with a first-class passage out and horn?, and all expenses here, besides a benefit match for the twelve, who will receive the whole of the net proceeds. T.ie arrangement will be conducted by H. H. Stephenson, to whose order £600 has beeu sent home by this mail, to pay each cricketer £50 before leaving Englar.d. There has been some talk of g3tting out un amateur eleven, but the terms they require are so excessive thafc I d> not think there is the slightest prospect of their coming."
