But "William Jones, a wiser economist of the fleeting hours of life, amended the sentiment thus : " Seven hours to law, 1 To soothing slumber seven, Ten to the world allot, And all to heaven." A Good Chaectee. — An Irish, gentleman parting with a lazy servant- woman was asked with respect to het industry, whether she was what is termed afraid of work. "O, not at all," said lie ; " not at all ; she'll frequently lie devm and fall asleep by the yery side of it."
