Superintendent's Office, Southland, Bth August, 1866. npHE attention of sheep owners is JL called to the following Clause of the " Sheep Ordinance, 1866," and it is hereby notified that I have appointed the Provincial Treasury to be the place where brands may be registered. Every owner of Sheep shall cause \ " a correct description and "impression of his brand and permanent mark to beregistered " in an office to be appointed by " the Superintendent for that " purpose, and every owner " neglecting so to register his " brand and permanent mark " before the first day of January "1867, shall be liable to a "penalty not exceeding fire "pounds, and for every week " that he shall continue such " neglect after the first conviction "he shall be liable to an " additional penalty of not more " than five pounds."
