The Prince Alfred, steamer, is repairing, previous to her departure for Panama as an emergency boat. Sydney, 7th August. The Pritna Donna, from Valparaiso, brings three hundred and fifty tons Chilian breadstuff's. Another vessel also is off the Heads with breadstuff's. The Seabird, bound from Newcastle to Hokitika, has put in here in a leaky state. She has received considerable damage from bad weather. The schooner Vixen, for Sydney, was wrecked near Port Macquarie, but fortunately" the crew were saved. At auction, to-day, Chilian flonr realised £11 ; maize, 4s 2d to 4s 3d. Trade generally is very dull. Sydney, Bth August. Mauritius sugar at auction, to-day, j showed a further decline. Brown brought £33 10s ; crystals, £36 to £44 ; counters, £37 to' £43. Maize, 4s 2d. Teas are | firmer. Okakge, Bth August. News has been received in Orange today that 2,500 ozs. of gold have been obtained from seven loads of wash dirt, taken from Spencer's claim, by a miner near Wentworth.
