Letters addressed to Kongkong, Penang, Singa pore, and any part of China, or Japan, the PhU hpin Islands, Java, Sumatra, Borneo, Labuan the Moluccas, and Siam, are chargeable as foi lows : — Not exceeding £ oz Is. Exceeding £ oz., and not exceeding loz 2s. And so on, increasing two shillings for ever* additional ounce or fraction of an ounce. 8. — To Naval Oppicebs on Fobeign Stations Letters addressed to Officers serving on boarc any of Her Majesty's ships on a foreign station when sent through the United States, are charge able as foUows : — Not exceeding £ oz ls. Exceeding £ oz., and not exceeding 1 oz. 2s. „ 1 oz. „ 2 oz. 4s. And so on, increasing two shillings for every ad, ditional ounce or fraction of an ounce. 9. — To Naval Seamen and Soldiebs. Letters sent to or by Seamen and Soldiers Eer Majesty's Service wUI be transmitted withir the colony, and between the colony and any postoffice in the British dominions, at a charge of ONI penny, provided that the foUowing regulation-: are observed : — 1. Each letter must not exceed half an ounce in weight. 2. It must be superscribed with the name o1 the writer, his description or class in tht vessel or regiment, and signed by the officei at the time in command. 3. The postage must be prepaid. Every letter of this description posted or received in this colony, nofc in accordance with the foregoing regulations, wUI be treated as an ordinary letter. The postage upon these letters must iv all cases be paid in advance. Fbee Lettebs. Letters on the pubUc service of Her Maje sty naval and mflitary forces are exempted from the payment of postage, if bearing the words " On Her Majesty's Service," and the signature of the officer in command of fche force on the service oi which the letter is despatched. But such letters cannot be transmitted by any irregular route, or one entailing additional expense on the Colonial Government. Letters on the pubUc service of the General Government of the Colony are transmitted free by post, if bearing the words "On the pubhc service only," and the signature of some officer of the General Government authorised to frank letters. 11. — Registebed Lettebs. Registration Fee ... ... ... ... ls. In addition to the ordinary postage chargeable on any Letter — except in special cases. Newspapebs. 1. To any part of the Colony, the AustraUan Colonies, or to the United Kingdom vid Southampton. Not exceeding 4 oz. ... 4d. Exceeding 4 oz., and not exceeding 8 oz. Bd. „ 8 oz. „ 16 oz, ls 4d. And 'so on, increasing eight pence for every idditional half-pound, or fraction of haK-a-lound. 2.
