Chbistchuiich, 9th August. Arrived — Spray, from Hokitika; Daniel Watson, from Hobarton; Skjold, from Newcastle ; Airedale, from Wellington — sails South at noon. Assembly, very little doing. Treasurer's statement expected yesterday. Unsuccessful attempts made to recover cable. The Eangitoto and Albion has arrived at Hokitika from Melbourne. From Mauritius reports that , the sugar crops, expected to be large but late.
