CANTERBURY.
Ckristchukch, 6th August. Arrived — Windover, from Sydney ; "Warterly, from Newcastle. Sailed — Dancing Wave, for G-reymouth. The Gothenberg has arrived at Hokitika, from Melbourne ; she brings news to the 27th July. The ship Netherly, from Queensland, has been wrecked on King's Island. The passengers (452) and the crew were only saved by ropes from the shore, the boats having been stove in. Great dissatisfaction exists at the new Ministerial appointments in New South "Wales, and the Ministry not expected to survive the meeting of Parliament at Sydney. In this colony more wrecks and loss of life is reported, and several collisions'have taken place Bushrangers — Connell, one of Clerk's is shot. Business is more active at town rates.
