LONESOME.
I am juat as lonesome os I can be^~ A heart that is heavy, and thoughts at \wz- ; The crickets sing loud, and the clouds say rain. And 1 sing to my hi-art this one refraiis— I am just as lonusome as I can be — Oh, how I wish you wore here with me ■ Dark and gloomy above is the sky, In gusty biasts.the wind goes by ; And those little crickets out in the grass Over it all are chanting high mass ; And I am just as lonesome as I can be — Oh, how I wish you were here with me I If you were here I would'nt care. Whether it rained, or if 'twere fair, For the wind that? blo^s, and the crickets that sing — Would'nt caro for a single thing ; But now I am lonesome a* 1 can be — Oh, how I wish you were here with rao 1 For youM get nearer the louder 'twould blow Just to keep the wind off me, you know, And 1 v.ever could bear to hear crickets sing, So Yd just hide my head beneath your wing ) And we would'nt be lonesome, no not we — Oh, how I wish you were hCTerWith me !
