The laverock i' the blue lift, abuneyon fleecy dud, The lintie i' the the thorny bush, the throstle i' the wud ; In a' tills wide an' bonny warid, ihe things that live and move, May be made to feel the glamour o' kindness and o' love. Be gude to pussie, bairnies, she ance wa9 young like you, _ Tho' now aid Time has merled \ri r white her bonnie brindled brow, Just see how cozily she sits aiide our blithe hearthstane, And thrums her wee bit sang about the days lang past an' gane Oh. I what a store o' cat-like'iore yet lingers in her pbw, As she nods her wise auld head afore tne flichter o' the lowe, She's maybe dreamin o' the days when she was yauld on' crouse, An' sprang Jike tiger on her prey, and catch, d her first wee mouse. Be kind toevery living thing, his creatures great an' Bma', An' sac yell better serve an' please the Father o' us a' ; ' Whose law 's a chain o' kindness to bmd us a' thegether, Into a holy britherhood wha love an' help ilk . ither. The lowe o' love that's kindled here will never flare and die, But will burn with growing brightness in the land beyond the sky. ♦
