MONDAY, 9th JULY.
Charles Peters was brought up on remand, charged with stealing a case of jarc from the premises of Messrs. Ekensteen and Hall,' and after a numbei of witnesses had been examined or the part of the prosecution, Mr. Harvey addressed the Court on behalf of the prisoner, and he was sentenced to simonths' imprisonment, with hard labor. Civil Cases, erederic and co. v. wilson". This was an action arising out of s dispute as to the terms of a contract foi altering a dwelling-house. The case possessed no feature of public interest, and after numerous witnesses had been examined, a verdict was given for the plaintiff for for £27 ls ld.
