WASTE LAND BOARD.
The usual weekly meeting of the "Waste Land Board was held at the Government Buildings yesterday. The members present were : — W. H. Pearson (Chief Commissioner), D. M' Arthur, and J. F. Dundas. The attendance of the general public was somewhat numerous. The first application laid before the Board was that of Duncan Carmichael for 161 acres 1 rood, sec. 24, block 4, Winton, Mr Duncan M' Arthur appeared as agent. There being no opposition, the application was granted. Mrs Louisa Daniels was the next applicant for 50 acres, run 165. Mr Hatch i appeared as agent ; and there being no opposition the claim was granted. A second application, was put in by Mr M'Pherson, on behalf of J. G-. Francis, Esq., Melbourne, for a parcel of land previously sold. The object of this application being renewed was owing to a dispute arising as to the boundary of the land purchased. Ultimately the question was amicably settled between. Mr M'Pherson and Mr Law, the later gentleman being the occupier of run 135, adjoining the land sold. Mr Henderson Law applied for 640 acres on run 135. The decision of, this application was deferred for the opinion | oi the Chief Surveyor. i Mr W. H> King applied for 79 acres 1 ! rood SO perches, Winton District. Application granted. Mr Alexander Gerrard applied for 125 acres 3 roods 1 perch, Wintou district, i Application granted. Mr Charles Quinn applied for 234 acres 2 roods 28 perches, sec. 13 and 14, block 15, Jacobs'" Eiver Hundreds. The application was granted. The application of Mr Charles Quinn, for 50 acres, was withdrawn. The application of James F. Dundas, Esq., for pre-emptive right, 250 acres on run 156, was granted. The application of Mr Charles Quinn, for 476 acres 5 roods 21 perches, Jacobs' Hiver Hundred, was granted. Messrs Boyd and Sons applied for 55 acres, which was granted. Mr CutclitFe applied for 105 acres 1 rood 39 perches, Winton district, which was granted. It was decided that in the case of the Heddon Bush Eeserve that it should be put up in 5 acre lots, and that the timber and land be sold separately. It was intimated that the rental for the runs was postponed to the 3rd July. The Board then adjourned.
