(Before H. M'Culloch, Esq., E. M.) THURSDAY, 31st MAY. "W. Thompson and J. M'Donald, were each fined 10s, or 24 hours' imprisonment for drnnkenness. E. Stevens, charged with -wilfully damaging property, was discharged. Civil Cases. CRACK V. DOIfKE. In this case the plaintiff claimed £2 6s 6d, for work done at the Theatre during the engagement of the Stevens' Troupe for whom the defendant acts as manager Verdict for Plaintiff with costs. FRIDAY, Ist JUNE. T. Mitchell, W. Stories, John and Tommy a colored crew charged with deserting the whaling Brig " Amherst " were remanded to Campbelltown. Civil Cases. • J. STEWART V. MARTIN. This action arose from an engagement entered into by Martin to employ the Plaintiff as managing brewer at the Black Eagle Brewery Invercargill. After Stewart entered on his duties and not giving satisfaction to the defendant he was summarily dis nissed and now claimed £11 Is *Bd. wages due and expenses back to Dunedic. It seemed that j the defendant did not allow plaintiff full j control and in the several brews undertaken during his engagement. The Bench ruled that he had been wrongfully dismissed and gave judgment for plaintiff for full amount claimed and costs. MARTIN V. STEWART. • In this action Martin claimed from Stewart £20, the value of sundry casks of beer said to have been spoiled by the bad management of the defendant. Verdict however was given for defendant with costs. <"*?' J. CAHILL V. J. FORD. Claim for board £9 Is 6d, no appearance of either party. KINGSWELL V. DIXON. For goods sold £12 8s 3d. For plaintiff with costs, for full amount claimed. ROSS V. SOUTH. For goods Bold £7 19s. For plaintiff with costs for full amouut claimed. ! ROSS V. SINCLAIR. Claim for £12 7s 3d, goods sold. For plaintiff with costs for full amount. ROSS V. BIRT. For goods sold £8 4s. For plaintiff with,; costs for full amount. : SATUEDAY, 2nd JUNE. :
