RESIDENT MAGISTRATES COURT.

(Before H. M'Culloch, Esq., E.M.) TUESDAY, 22nd MAY. Alexander Cameron was fined 40s. or five days' imprisonment, with hard labor, for makng use of insulting language to a lady and gentleman in Tay-street, without the slightest excuse or provocation. STARK T. CARROLL. This was an adjourned case, the hearing having been postponed for the production of further evidence. The claim was for £4< 9s 3d for goods sold. Defendant proved he had paid the debt, but plaintiff and his wife positively denied it. Judgment for plaintiif, with costs. There were no cases before the Court yesterday.
