The Aden tribe, so lately punished by British forces, are again attempting to intercept supplies. Official reports on cotton .exported from Bombay, during February,value it ab £2,400,000. The Abyssinian
prisoners were - released'; they are still in the dominions of King Theodore. Famine has broken out in Bhootan and the poorer classes are suffering fearfully. The total cost of the Bhootan war was £250,000. The Bhootan Government remonstrates against, a British force remaining on the frontiers after proclamation of peace. Lord Napier has assumed the governorship of Madras. Sir 'William Denison has received a highly complimentary address previous to departure. The money market is satisfactory. Metals in fair request. Cotton slightly advanced. Opium dull.
