The position which CampbeUtown (Bluff Harbor) occupies as the first port of arrival and last of departiure for the ißteamers carrying Her Majesty's EngUsh and AustraUan Mails, as weU as its growing importance as a port of caU for sailing vessels of large tonnage, and the feet that itis the southern terminus of the New Zealand •Telegraph! System, and of the Railways already initiated in Southland, which eventuaUy will traverse the invhole of the Middle Island, has induced us to establish 1 at this point a GENERAL TELEGRAPH | AGENCY, The objects we have in view are threefold : — Firsily. — Receiving and transacting aU Mercantile Business in which the telegraphic wife may be caUed into requisition. Secondly. — Supplying the Press throughout New Zealand with the latest EngUsh and Australasian InteUigence, including the : state of Markets, Shipping, and General News from aU parts of the Colonies. Thirdly — Transacting Telegraphic Business of a misceUaneous character for the pubUc at large. The marked success which lias attended Uke andertakinga, both in Europe and the Colonies when conducted with energy and inteUigence, and the long experience of the projectors in mercantile business, and their thorough knowledge of the duties of a Press Correspondent, combined with a determination to devote their whole attention to the Agency, emboldens them, to sohcit pubUc patronage. A wide-spread system of Telegraphic Agencies has been formed tliroughout the whole of the AustraUan Colonies, in connection with the "NEW ZEALAND GENERAL TELEGRAPHIC AGENCY." The strictest secrecy, together with promptitude and accuracy in all affairs entrusted to us, may be reUed on.
