The schooner Tommy anchored at the heada early on the morning of the 7th inst. She is from Dunedin, bound for Melbourne, and has had very stormy weather, ■with head "winds. .She reports the Christinia Thomson at Stewart's Island, from Melbourne and bound for InvercargilL_ . . . . The cutter Fanny is alongside the ship Maria, loading, and will receive the whole of that ship's cargo for this port (about 30 ton 3). The Maria will sail for Dunedin in a few days. We are informed that Captain Renner, late of the s.s. Storm Bird, hns received the command of the s.s "Wellington, rendered vacant by the removal to the Taranaki, of Captain Francis. Mr Gleadow, chief officer of the Wellington, will be appointed to the s.s. Storm Bird, in place v oi Captain Renner. We congratulate the gentlemen upon their promotion.
