LITTLE WANDERERS.
By John GK Smith. At the golden gate of heaven, Stood a little infant band, ' Travellers from a world of sorrow, : Travellers to the tearless land. All their love — their friend and brother, All their hate — the stains of sin, All their wish — to hear the welcome — ' ( " Little wanderers enter in." Forth they stretch their tiny fingers, Sweet their silvery voices blend, Lambkins tender, they had followed Jesus, as their shepherd friend. Holy Saviour thou hast bought us, . Thou hast washed away our sin, Spread thine arms of love around us/ Take us, "little wanderers in." Lays of Zion — Hallelujah's, Echoed from the heavenly throng, Jesus over sin victorious, Was the theme of every song. Hark ! amid the angel-anthems, Gentle accents thus begin — " Holy children come and welcome — Little wanderers enter in." Invercargill, 10th April, 1866.
