What was an alarming, but might haye, been a most calamitous accident, has just taken place at Darlington. A great structure, known as the iiise Carr Iron-" works, was blown down, as it would appear, by the force of the wind. The entire building, it is said, " literally collapsed." Yet only one life was sacrificed. The workmen, to the number of 170, were out on strike, and thus a dispute about wages saved their lives. ,%
