20th April, 3.30 p.m. The "Wellington has arrived from Mahakau. The Governor is about visiting Rewi at Kawhia. The Friendly Natives on the East Coast have destroyed some Hau-hau pahs. There have been several cases of arson at Auckland. One man has been fully committed. The Silver Eagle takes the head quarters of the 43rd, The Phoebe has sailed for Wellington. The purchase of the Mamamatu (?) block has been completed for £25,000. (?) The schooner Bon-na Matilda has arrived from Chili, with 300 tons flour.
