Thttrsdax, 22xd Mabch. (Before W. H. Pearson, Esq., J.P.) William Davis was brought up on remand, charged with stealing £38, a nugget of gold, and a -gold chain %om Patrick Eussell. The prosecutor gave evidence to the effect that, on the 11th inst., he left the property in his coatpocket in Captain Junor's stable, at Waikivi, and -having missed it, and suspecting the prisoner, taxed him with the robbery. He at first denied it, but afterwards gave up the money, and said he had not stolen the nugget or chain. After the evidence had been completed, the prisoner was committed &r fciai '■ " '
