THE CATTLE STEALING CASE.
TO THE EDITOB OF THE SOUTHLAND TIMES. Sir, — Will you allow me to correct your account of the cattle stealing case which was heard List Saturday. The cow that Brown mistook was branded J.R. and not T.R. as tbe receipt shown in court testified — signed by Robertson tbe auctioneer. The animal was lost four years ago, and after that lapse of time Brown could recognise the animal branded T.H. and R. as one he lost and had not seen for four years. — I am, yours &c, Rodney Paslet. — »
