We have more than once urged the important necessity for animation on the part of the people of this Province on the subject of Eegistration. During the recent election of members of the House of Eepresentatives many persons must have felt annoyed, that owing to their own neglect in this respect, they were not in a position to take part in a choice of candidates, and yet we find that this circumstance has not led to such an increase in the number of claimants to be placed on the Electoral Eoll as we anticipated it would have produced. On making enquiries, we regret to learn that in comparison with the number of unregistered persons possessing the necessary qualifications the number of claimants to have their names placed on the various Eolls of the Province is at present insignificant. We, therefore, would again call attention to the fact that the 31st of this month is the last day on which claims to vote can be registered. Unless such claims are sent in to the Eegistration Officer on or before that day persons not now on the Eoll, neglecting to register, willbe entirely excluded from voting at any election for the ensuing eighteen months. Surely residents in the Province cannot be aware of this, or they would not allow an opportunity to pass, of which, at some future time, they will undoubtedly repent refusing to avail themselves.
