DUNEDIN COMMERCIAL.

Times Office, 23rd February, 1866. Transactions have been rather more numerous, but trade continues comparatively sluggish. The demand for goods for export, is but light, and but a limited amount of business is doing for the interior. In the flour market, there is no change. Sugars have been asked for, and values for all good sorts are firm. The inquiry for teas has been trifling, and confied to best qualities. Oilmen's stores and provisions are much in demand, and large prices are paid for the limited parcels available. Importers have no difficulty in placing fair ordinary ports and sherries, and first-class brandies. We hear of sales of Hennessy's pale at Bs. So few goods have been disposed of by auction, that the sales call for no special remark. Messrs Driver, Maclean and Co.'s usual sale of wool was held at their warehouses, High-street, to-day, and numerously attended. Several very superior parcels of washed and greasy wool were offered, nearly all of whic, with the exception of a few lots, withdrawn for want of instructions from owners, found buyers at prices about equal to those obtained at last sale—^iz., for greasy fleece, 9d to lid; washed fleece, I7£d to 20* d. Scoured wool is not quoted, as two very fine samples were withdrawn, for the reasons above stated; as was also a most beautiful parcel of washed wool, all of which will be offered at next sale. -+
