COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENCE.
Southland Times Office, Thursday Evening, Feb. 22. Business during tho week has been a decided shade brisker. Some good country orders have been executed, and a fair demand for most articles of produce has been experienced. Flour (Adelaide silk-dressed) is firm at £32, and Chilian in good demand. The market is bare of many articles most particularly in demand; but the, provincial producers are endeavoring to meet the requirements. Some parcels of excellent bacon have been received ; but not in sufficient quantity to affect the price of this commodity, which is still high, with a tendency upwards. Large quantities of wool has arrived, and the town has certainly been more lively than for some time past. The following are the Custom House returns for the past two days : —
