THE RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION.
» TO THE EDITOB OF THE SOUTHLAND TIMES. Sib, — I am a constant reader of your paper, and have been pleased with the Wiiy in which you have written on the doings oi' the government. The strictures on the conduct of the Campbelltovvn Magistrate were weil deserved, as were also those with reference to the irregularity of the mail, and the uselessness of the telegraph. But you are not sufficiently broad in your investigations. I have anxiously looked for your review of the Railway Engineer's reports, but have not seen them. Why is this ? If the reports I have heard are correct, the public should be made acquainted. I look to you for the information, why do you not give it ? — I am, Sir, yours Ac, A CONTBACTOB. [Our correspondent will find his answer in the leading columns. It is neither our province or our inclination to condemn or support any individual or party unless "v c are satisfied in our own mind on the question at issue. — Ed. B.T.]
