ARRIVAL OF THE ENGLISH MAIL AT INVERCARGILL.
TO THE EDITOB OF THE SOUTHLASTD TIMES. Sir, — It is beyond my power to describe to you with my pen the accommodation it has afforded to numerous country people this morning by the hoisting of the Mail Signal at the Grovernment buildings, on the arrival of the English Mail. JSTow, Sir, I trust that some one will continue to do the same kindness as has been done to — 1 may say hundreds — this morning, especially country people, by hoisting the signal on the arrival of the mail. Before I conclude, I must not forget to convey the warmest thanks of numerous citizens to our local lettercarrier, Mr. W. Steel, for his very kind exertions in his timely delivery of the English Mail immediately on its arrival here. — I am, Sir, yours, &c, Citizen. Tnvercargill, 24th Jan., 1866.
