The ship Robert Henderson has now completed her loading, having upwards of 2000 bales of wool on board, besiJes a largciiumber ofhides, a quantity of tallow, and other produce of the province.— Times, 13th Jan. . • The paddle steamer, Favorite, made a satisfactory trial trip at Wellington last week, after an expensive overhaul to her hull and machinery. Subsequently an alarming fire occurred in the waste locker of the engine-room, but was extinguished before any serious damage •was done. Messrs Taylor and Watt have not as vet decided whether to send her back to the Wanganui trade or lay her on as a tug at the Grey.— The ship Percy has arrived at Auckland from London with 93 passengers, 123 days out. Durin^ the passage, John JBnrrell, one of the seamen, was drowned. He went over the ship's bulwarks in order to make the hose last, prior to washing decks, and is supposed to have lost his hold during the lurching of the vessel. On the 16th December, an accident of a painful nature occurred on board, which nearly cost the captam his life. . lhe schooner Canterbury, purchased in the United States by Messrs Taylor and Co. for the New Zealand coasting trade, and which was wrecked off Stoddart's Point more than 12 months ago, was finally raised, and beached in Diamond Harbor on Svnday morning, about nine a.m., at "high water. — Canterbury Press lhe ship Indian Empire has sailed from Lyttelton with a cargo consisting of 3583 bales of woll, 25 bales of sheepskins, and other produce, altogether valued at £75,000. Owing to the flooded state ofthe streams in the interior,°there has been a partial stoppage to the cartage of wool irom <he stations during the week. Owing to this, the loading of the Star of Tasmania has been considerably retarded, but an opportunity has been afforded for stowing away what has been shipped. She has now received oyer 100 bales.; she is intended to carry 2000, which quantity' should the rivers subside, will bd shipped in time'for her sailing about the 24th or 25th instant. •' An equal quantity to that shipped on board the Star of Tasmania has beeu forwarded for Spipment at Port Chalmers.—" Oamaru Times-" o •
