The Titania arrived from Dunedin at 2 p.mi yesterday. By her wo ■ are in receipt of later dates from the North, brought as far as Dunedin per s.s. Wellington and s.s. Otago. The s.s. Otago, which arrived at Port Chalmers at 11 a.m., sailed from Sydney at 1 p.m. on the 15th last ; arrived at Nelson at 4. a.m. -on the2lsfc insfc. ; and sailed 9.30 p.m. on the 22nd ; arrived at Wellington at 2 a.m. on the 23rd ; and sailed at 2.20 p.m. on the 24th ; arrived at Lyttclfou at 7.30 a.m. on the 25th; and sailed at 3.30 p.m. on the 26th; arriving at Port Chalmers as reported above. Her freight includes a quantity of miscellaneous cargo for the exhibition, and a number of fine rams consigned to Messrs. Driver, Maclean and Co., Dunedin.— Otago Daily, fPimes. The N.Z.S.N. Co.'s s.s. Wellington, Captain Francis, left Manukau on flw 18th inst. at 3 p.m. and arrived at Taranaki the following morning at 7.30 a.m. ; lefh same evening at 5.30 p.m., and arrived at Nelson at 11 a.m. on the 20th, haying experienced sh-oiig south-east weather crossing the Su-aits. . LeffriNelsqn on the 22nd at 10.45 p.m. v and arrived at Picton at 9 p.m. ; left Picton on tlio 23rd at 4.30 a.m., but in : consequence of -the • thictnes ? of the weather in the Straits, was unable to make Wellington Heads till afternoon, arriving at the wharf afc noon. I/cffc Wellington at 2.15 p.m. on Hie. 2-lth; and avvivod at LyttelUm at 7.20 a.m. on the 25th, and sailed ssuno day at . -noon, but didnot reach the Heads till 10.35 aim., having passed through a thick fog off Moeraki, during which the engines were kept going slow. The Otago arrived at Lyttelton 3£ minutes before '"the Wellington, both' steamers having left Wellington together, and kept together throughout the passage, the Wellington ", occasionally a : hcad. This, is thethird or fourth occasion on winch the Wellington and Otago have imade very equal runs along the coast, both vessels making very high speed on each trip, and ■■on; each occasion the Wellington proved to Vbe not much, if at all,- the' inferior. TheAsteropo arrived here on the 7th October, "since whichthne she has discharged her inward cargo, consisting of about 1,200 tops of goods, and taken on board 250 tons of ballast, and 2,000 bales, wool,; besides other ciirgo (the work being done by lighters), in little 'more than two months and a half.— Wellington Independent. ;
