Wanganui, from Picton ; and Wanganui ; and the Storm Bird, I repairing. The loading and discharging of. the vessels alongside the wharf, and the number of persons passing to and fro, made the wharf a very busy scene indeed. — Independent. Mr. Read, the Warden of the Gaol, has received, instructions from Auckland to the effect that his Excellency Sir G-ebrge Grey has been pleased to commute the sentence of death passed upon Walter Tricker, for the murder of Robert Stillingfleet Eayner at Rangitikei, to penal servitude during;the term of his natural life. — Ibid.
