We are in. receipt of. Hobart Town papers to the 31stult. ! ' ' :i ' :'■'...■ '■'' ' •- A very ! extensive conflagration took place on the Old Wharf on the 'morning of the 30th ult. ■ which resulted in. the complete destruction of throe large stores, several' others being also ' injured. The jifercury, referring to the damage, - says :— — " -The stores occupied by Mr. Patterson are; the property of Mr. M'M"augh ton, and are insured, -we are informed, fpJ : £2000, with the Imperial Insurance Company;' Mr. Patterson's stock was 'insured for £1550, in three offices} namely,' the, Northern, Derwent and Tamar, and Imperial; Mr. Hawkih's store belongs to Mrs. Salmon, and was, we believe, uninsured ; Mr. Hawkin's stock was, however, partially covered in the London and Liverpool office. The Eestdownlime store is the property, of Messrs. G-uesdon and Co., who, we are toldj hold a policy for £400 from the same company. Mr. Wise's house is uninsured, but the . damage to it is not very" extensive ; he is, however, a great loser by hia furniture, over which there /was no insurance. It was all of a valuable description, and was very much destroyed and broken up in process of removal. Mr. Duroy's stock and premises are uninsured, and we regret to say that he also will be a heavy loser." The hon Eichard Cleburne died on the 29th ult.
