District of Oterahtka. The election of a member to represent this district in the Provincial Council of Southland, took place on Monday last, at the Police Station, Dacre, at noon. .; -..-.:"..' A meeting of the electors took place at the Court-house, Riverton, on Monday last, for the purpose of nominating candidates for the representatim of the 'district in the 1 Provincial Conncil. Mr. Surman,. the. Returning Officer, having opened the proceedings, the fbUowing gentlemen were proposed, viz.— - - Mr. J). S.
