Tuesday, Novkmber Ist, 186 1. (Before I. Newton Watt, Esq., R.M.) Civil Case*. j. Andrews v. j. pope. Debt £11 17s. 2d. Defendant did not appear, and as there was no proof of service of summons, the case was not proceeded with. SUSAN DIXON V. CATHERINE LYONS. The defendant was charged by prosecutrix with using obscene and insulting language towards her* in a public thoroughfare, at Green Hills. The charge was fully proven ; but it. was also prored th.it tlie prosecutrix, having made use of certain expressions respecting defendant to a third person immediately before, had provoked the attack of the defendant. The defenlant was therefore dismissed with a caution. Costs divided. Wednesday, 2nd November, 1864. (Refore I. Newton Watt, Esq., R.M.) John Baird, on bail, was charged with drunkenness. No appearance. Bail forfeited, £1. Civil Cases, jas. m'cttedy v. w. nicholson. Debt £3. No appearance.
