Our exports to the Australian colonies have been on a moderate scale for some: months past. , On the 31st July, on which date we consider the "seaßb"n"lß63 : -64 to have" closed, they were 's,o7l' tons under those of the preceding season, and the only clearances during the past month liave been Oryx, for Adelaide.; Kestrel, for_Sw_an Eiver ; and Mary Agnes, for Sydney, carrying together onlyj 742 tons, whereas* in -August last year, theyj amounted to 3,000 tons. The Sarah, reported for; Melbourne, is the only vessel now loading for' Australia, but the Adeja, 179. tons, has just beeni chartered for "Otago/^NW Zealand,-at 75s per ton,; and we believe that the Clara Sayers, Lord Nelson/ • and'E6bert^Passenger,irecentlyi arrived, ; will all return with, cargoes. . Taking freight to the~TJnited Kingdom at 655. per ton and exchanges at Jtiper c?nt. discount, we estimate the cost of a good grey refining sugar equaU tolNdV 12 D v utch: atandard,\at about 27?.
