[BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.] Bluff, 26th October, 1864. ABBIVALS. Oct. 26.— Nil. 2 p.m. — Barque in sight ; supposed to be the Escape, from Leith, via Port Chalmers. DEPABTTTBES. Oct. 26.— Nil. The Visiok.— On the" 26th of June, the miniature brig Vision, the smallest craft that has ever yet attempted to cross the Atlantic, departed from the Battery at New York, direct for Liverpool. She sailed out in gallant style, -with colors flying, manned by a crew consisting ,of John C. Donnovan and his dog Toby, and one man, named Williams, from Rhode Island. Her departure ■was witnessed by a large number of people, who remained, despite the intense heat, until the vessel became a speck on the water. The Coronet, from Quebec, has recently spoken the tiny vessel at sea, she being then out twenty-four days, and hating reached lat. 45 ° 10' N., long. 53 ° W., or the vicinity of Cape Race. " All hands " were well, but short of provisions and water, which the Coronet supplied.— Home News, Aug. 26. Ship Launches. — An iron sailing vessel of 800 tons has been launched by Me33rs. S. and H. Morton, Victoria Dock, Leith, named the James "Wishart. Her main and foremasts, bowsprit and mainyard, are iron, and her rigging,, which will be of wire, will be completed after the most approved principles. She will sail for Melbourne in a fe*- weeks. Messrs. Randolph, Elder and Co., of Glasgow, have just launched the Payta, a gteamer, 260 feet in length, and 1816 tons meaeurement, for the Pacific Steam Navigation Company. The ceremony of christening her was performed by Miss Just, daughter of Mr. Just, the managing director of the company. Three steamers, of 200 tons, and 400 horse power each, are in course of "construction by the same builders for the Pacific Company. A vert fine marine boiler, : weighing about fifteen tons, is just now to be seen on the Stuartstreet Jetty, having been constructed at Messrs. Parry and "Co.'h foundry, in Great King-street, for steamer: Sampson. Competent judges have declared this to be a splendid sample of workmanship, and well worth an inspection. It ,is, we believe, the first of its kind which has been ■inanu&ciered in Dunedin. — Otago Mail, 22nd inst.
