(From the Age of lith Oct.) Adelaide, 14th Oct. The Art Union, of Calcutta, takes a. cargo of copper and fifty-two horses, including the following racers : G-aylad, Donovan, Doctor Biekland, Sheoak, Bushman, Cotherstbne, Miss Nancy, Qiv a jt Mazeppa and others, in charge af Mr. Thomas Jordan. The Assembly voted an address to the Governor for a bill increasing the grant of land from two to four miles for every mile of railway made by private, company to Port Augusta in the Far North. The Bible Society, at their annual meeting, elected the hon. MrV Peacock their president .instead of the Chief Justice, who has been requested to resign in consequence of having in a lecture spoken favorably of Dr!' Colenso.
