His dam, in 1855, at the Avondaie Farmers' Society's Show, gained the first prize for the draught mares. In 1860, at the same show, she, with Lofty at foot, gained the first prize, for the brood mares ; and in 1864 she gained the first prize at the same show for the brood mares also, His sire, Clydesdale Tom, in 1859, at the Lanarkshire Farmers' Society's Show of entires, held at Hamilton, gained , the first prize of £4-0. Lofty, in 1861, at Avondale Farmers' Society's Show, gained the iirßt. prize in the one-year olds. In 1862, at the same show, he gained the first prize in the two.-year olds, and also the prize for the best of the -horse kind. He likewise gained the first at the Lanarkshire Society's Show, at Hamilton, and second prize at the Glasgow Agricultural Society's Show, in the two year olds. And in 1863 he gained the second prize in the three-year olds, at the Highland Agricultural Society's Show, held at Kelso. Xofty will travel in the surrounding districts.
