Civil Cases. inrcx . v. cttmming. Mr. Button appeared for plaintiff. Claim for £2 10s. 6d. for goods supplied. "William Duncan "was ~ examined in support of the case. No appearance of defendant. Verdict for amount, with costs. 2mTIiABY T. HAXiB AITD BOBEBTSOW. Action to recover £60, on a bill of exchange. Mr. Macdonald appeared; for the plaintiff. The. defence was "not indebted '•' in consideration of no value being given for-the bill. It appeared in ..'evidence .that the defendants accepted the bill to allow Mr. Hewitt to borrow from Mr.Nyulasy the sum of £60. > ■■>.-■■> Mr. Hewitt gave evidence in support of the defendants' plea. .. r Mr. Macdonald called Mr. Nyulasy ; to state how the advance was made to Hewitt on; his property in Dee-street. From his statements it appeared that he only did bo in consideration of security being given ; and the security referred to the bill in question.
