His dam, in 1855, at the Avondale Farmers' Society's Show, gained the first prize for the draught mares. In 1860, at the same show, she, with Lofty at foot, gained the first prize for the brood mares ; and in 1564 she gained the first prize at the same show for the brood mares also. His sire, Clydesdale Tom, in 1859, at the Lanarkshire Farmers' Society's Show of entires, held at Hamilton, gamed the first prize of £40. Lofty, in 1861, at Avondale Farmers' Society's Show, gained the first prize in the one-year olds. In 1862, at the same show, he gained the first prize in the tAvo-year olds, and also the prize for the best of the horse kind. He likewise gained the first at the Lanarkshire Society's Show, at Hamilton, and second prize at the Glasgow Agricultural Society's Show, hi the two year olds. And in 1863 ho gained the second prize in the three-year olds, at the Highland Agricultural Society's Show, held at Kelso. Lofty will travel in tlie surrounding districts. To Mr. Wilson's, One-tree Point, on the Mondays ; to Mr. Baggots, Longbush, on the Tuesdays ; Call at Lir. Lind's, Roslyn Bush, Tuesday, mid-day; stop at the Junction Hotel on Wednesday nights ; stop at Mr. Grieves, Branxholme, on the Thursday nights ; will be at Chatsworth House from Friday till Monday Mornings. A good paddock for mares, but at the owners risk. Terms — £8 ' Season to commence on the 10th October. Will travel till the 28th February.
