A volunteer rifle match has taken place to-day, the result of a challenge from the Maldon (2nd Castlemaine) Rifles to the Maryborough Rifles. Each party fired at their own butts. The score waa as follows : — Maldon, 530 ; Maryborough, 647. Maryborough thus beat Maldon by 117 points. j Stdxey, September 28. The Bench refused to grant the application. Alarge sale of Duffield's flo,ur has taken place at £24 10s., and there have been small sales of best brands at £25. Wheat, 10s. 4d., but little offering.
