A KBW schooner is now in course of being built \>y "MV Tliompson, sliipbiiil^o^, on tiie jetty beaclx. Sheiiilo he pretty fiat oa the bottom, and "will be of sufficiently light draught to navigate the waters of our harbors with ease ; while she will be of such a size and build that her sailing capacities will enable her to trade with inter-colonial ports as well as those on our own coast. The following are the particulars of her dimensions, viz., — Length of keel, 75 feet ; 90 feet over all. Beam, 19£ feet ; depth of hold, 9 feet. She will draw about 6 feet 3 inches of water, and will carry one hundred tons. Oub jetty at present has a very deserted looking appearance. Only two or three coasting craft lie alongside, while the quietness of the times is only broken by the periodical trips of the s.s. Ruby, from the Bluff, or the 3.5. William iliskin, from Dunedin. The favorite steamship Titania which 18 now shortly to resume her old line of trade, should impart a little more vitality to business. "The lighter No. 4 (Greville and Whiting's), •which was sold some time ago to Mr. Thompson, ship-carpenter here, has been receiving a thorough overhaul- on the slip, at his hands. She ha 3 been yesold to Captain Tomkins, of Dunedin, and will be launched once more into her natural element to-day. She appears to be now in every reipect seaworthy. ,
