Loi'ty is four years old, and stands seventeen hands high. He was bred by Mr. Hugh Vallance, of Great-hill, Avondale, Lanarkshire. His dam, in 1555, gained the first prize at the Avondale Farmers' Society's Show ; ancl for draught mares, with foal at foot, the first prize afc the same show, in 186 i. Lofty's sire, Clydesdale Tom, in 1859, gained the first prize at the Lanarkshire Farmers' Society's Show. Lofty, in 1861, gained the first prize lor one-year olds at the Avondale Farmers' Society's Show ; and in 1862, the first prize for two-year olds at the same show ; also the prize for the best horse of his kind at the Lanarkshire Agricultural Society's Show, held at Hamilton the same year. In 1863 Lofty gained the second prize for two-year olds afc the Glasgow Agricultural Society's Show; and same year the second prize for three-year olds at the Highland Agricultural Show, held at Kslso. A good paddock provided for marcs, but at the owners risk. Terms— £B per mare. Lofty will commence travelling on 10th October, and continue till the 28th February, 1565.
