Hard Drinking-. — One of the most remarkable cases of hard drinking which we can recollect for some time past, was sworn to on Monday, in the Court of General Sessions, as having lately occurred in Cliiltern. A man who had in his possession a stolen watch offered it for sale for £5 to the landlord of a public house, famous for sixpenny drinks. The landlord detained the watch, and the next day the not very .innocent vendor was told' by the barman that he -had im- : bibed just enough to pay for the watch, as ho had in. the. previous day 200 drinks.-*- Qwhs^ q,nd
