The captain of the steamer Hunter r"epoz'ts that the Jane Williams, bound from Taranaki to Melbourne, via Twofold Baj, was ashore on Pambula Bar, with three feet of water in her hold! The Lucy Louiaa was struck by the Eangatira in Passage Sound on Saturday night. The helmsman of the Lucy disappeared, and is supposed to be killed or washed away. After the accident, the Rangatira lowered a boat, but did not speak the schooner, and steamed away. The Lucy's damage ia so great that she must repair here. August 30. The plant, &c.,, of the South Australian, Advertiser newspaper was offered for. aale by auction to-day, but was not sold. The highest bid made" was £2,000, the reserve; placed upon it being £5,000. Small parcels of flour have been quitted to-day at £20 Is. 6d., and of wheat at Bs. 9d.
