' Our dates are -to thS 20 th -i August. Speaking; of. the compensation, the Herald, says : — : ," As regards this place, ,it is reported, that the Government have' (verbally) -announced that the compensation will be paid next month — that is to say, that,, certi^cates -will be issued to, esveh, claimant .of the amount he* is ultimately to receive, which, will be payable in three 'months, and -in the meantime; bear interest at the .rate. ...of five per cent. Nothing of this has, been communicated officially to the Provincial authorities." .y ■■■- •■ Orders have been issued for the formation of flying column to act in concert with the regular troops, Fiye-and- twenty men ar.e to be selected from each company 'of the military settlers.
