Southland Times Office, Friday Evening. The revenue collected at the Custom-House for the past two days for articles cleared for homo consumption, was as follows : — Yesterday, £50 18s. 4d. ; to-day, £60 12s. 7d., together £111 10s lid., being duties levied as follows : — Brandy 128-J- gals £57 19 4 Wine, 27 „ 4 10 Geneva, 30 „ 13 10 0 Whisky, 674 „ 31 5 7 Sundries 4< 15 0 £111 10 11 Yesterday and to-day the town has been as usual occupied in the bustle incident on tho arrival and departure of the mail, and business on that account has been disturbed, or rather neglected. We hope, however, soon to observe signs of a favorable character evincing themselves in our markets. Mr. John Macdonald, auctioneer, sold by auction to-day, on the premises, the plant and fittings of the Seaward Bush Steam Sawmills, including the tramway from the Bluff road, &c, &c. This property originally cost, wo believe, some £2,000, but it was knocked down to-day for a mere nominal sum.
