June, 24. Sales closed on 9th June. Total number of bales catalogued, 103,763. On reduction rates ©f discount to seven per cent., an advance of a half-penny to Id. was established. 40,000 bales were bought for Erance. Choice brands of Port Phillip and Sydney wools fetched extremely high rates, and it is anticipated that next sales in July and August will maintain present prices. The Union Bank of Australia, as acting financial agent for the Queensland Government, invite tenders for one hundred thousand six per cent, bonds secured on the revenues of the Colony. The South Australian Company declared a dividend of seven per cent, per annum on 22nd June. The London Chartered Bank of Australia's dividend for the last halfyear was 4 per cent., free of income 1 tax. New Zealand Government Debentures for one million sterling, bearing interest at 5 per cent., and redeemable in fifty years, are offered to the public by the Crown Agents frr the Colonies. PItODTJCE MAEKETS. Tallow in demand, at prices from 6d. to Is. higher than former quotations. In leather a good business has been done in Australian, at fair prices. Hides, — Public sales have been small, but Australian still command former rates. Bar]?;. — Mimosa rather low, but large quantities sold. Oils — Linseed, rape, and eocoanut, decreesed in price. Sperm, £4 lower. Whalebone, from Bremen, sold at £510 per ton. Polar, from New York, fetched £440. Sugar — Late sales of raw sugar declided Is. per cwt., and stock 15,000 tons less than last year. Coffee, plantation and native, Is. to 2s. lower. Mocha held for full prices. Rice in active demand for speculation at advanced prices. Metals, British copper £5 lower ; Burra, £96 to £98 ; Yellow metal, Bid • quicksilver, £8 10s. per bottle. Corn Market. — The market is firm, at an advance of 2s. Barley, Is. dearer. Oats in good demand. Spirits. — In expectation of war with Germany, a ! good business is done at a slight advance. Provisions — Bacon 2s. per cwt. higher. Irish beef and pork declined.
