MARLBOROUGH COMMERCIAL.
The Press of th 3rd inst., reports as follows : — " There has been a decided improvement in trade since our last, orders from the up-country districts and along the sounds coming pretty freely. Wo hear of two more saw mills about to be erected, ■which will give an additional impetus to our timber trade, an industry which, properly followed out, will do much to advance the prosperity of the Province. Prices for the leading articles of commerce in Picton are as under : — Flour may be quoted at £34 for first quality, but the market is still very bare. Potatoes, £10 per ton ; market well supplied for the present. Wheat, 12s. per bushel; very little offering. Oats, per bushel, sa. 6d. to 6s. Onions, per cwt., SOs. Carrots, per cwt., 10s. Butter, Wellington potted, per lb., Is. 6d. . Irish ditto, none in the market. Tea, per chest (good), £12. Sugar (good counters), per cwt., 50i. to 555."
