A CLINCHER.
(to the editob of the southland times.) Sib, — Allow me, through your valuable columns, to draw the public's attention to a paragraph in tliis morning's Daily Neivs, wherein it announces an amusing scene in Dee-street, on Saturday night. I do not know if the writer studied the classics ; but this I know, he is neither a good engineer nor boiler-maker, else he would have clinched it in a proper manner ; but people on Saturday night, a little elated as usual, are apt to see double, and therefore there is no accounting for their hearing. The language used by the '• People's Man," as 'stated, happened in most instances to emanate from the "Royal Man!" I have no doubt the writer vs^very cutting ; but if heiiad seen himself as others saw him, he had better have cut to bed. ■ Hoping you will insert this pro bond publico, I am, &c, CHARLES LUCAS, , , . Town Crier. " - ' ' '' ': ' ' : ' ' - ' ■■' ' ' ■ ' .
