Tlie Argus, of 13th inst., says : — " The news received by telegram, from Adelaide, anticipatory of the advices by letter, has not tended to improve business, so far as imports from the mother country and the Continent are concerned. Shipments to* this port and Sydney are moderate in amount, bufc those to South Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand, are large, and hkely to lessen the number of shipping orders received here from these Colonies for some time to come. From India and China, however, the news is of small shipments, and has not been without its effect on the rice and tea markets. The bushel. The flour market remains very firm. A good trade demand prevailed throughout the day, best Adelaide brands closing firmly at £29 per ton. Wheat continues scarce, andin demand. A parcel of Hart's brand of Adelaide flour was sold at £28 15s. For Tasmanian, £27 was asked. At Kyneton mills yesterday- llour was quoted at from £26 to £30 / wheat, "Bs. to lis. 6d. ; and bran and pollard, 2s. per bushel. There was little good wheat offering, and holders were indisposed to sell. At Albury, on the 9th inst., flour was at £40, and no wheat was offered.
