The Phcebe left Port Chalmers at 5 p.m. on the 9th. Had fine weather on the passage, and arrived here at 10 p.m. on the 10th. *The Charlotta Jane, ship, 063 tons, left London on the 29th February last. Experienced fine weather all the way to the Cape, wliich she *i»made on the 22nd May. Crossed the Line on the 12th April. After leaving Table Bay, Capt. Lobbit reports having fallen in with sen cro weather. Made the Solanders on the 9th inst.. at 5 a.m. The passengers arc all well. She brings tln-ee locomotive engines, and a large cargo of goods for the Provincial Government. Two engineers accompany the vessel to put the engines aud carriages together.

Tm? schooner Pat the Rover, from iuvercargill. arrived at Adelaide on tho 21st June. Captain Bcamer reports leaving his port of loading on 15th May, and Stewart's Island 30th May, in company with the schooner Pilot, and from that timo he encountered a succession of gales more violent, if possible, when in lat. 38 dog. S., long. 152 cleg. E., where a very high sea caused the Rover to labor excessively, starting some of the bulwark stanchions, and' damaging the rigging and sails so much that he sought shelter in Twofold Bay, for refit, as well as to replenish the stock of provisions. The Union, brig, from Port Willunga, was at Stewart's Island when Captain Bcamer left, having put in on account Df damages sustained by a heavy "ale, wliich had made almost a clean sweep of her deck gear, boats, bulwarks, watercasks, and "ullev having been carried away by a sea breaking on board in Foyeaux Straits. — Otago Times. By the last northern mail advices were received by Messrs. Robertson and Co., of the arrival at Napier of the little craft Father Thames, on her passage from thi3 port to Auckland. The tiny little vessef had made a fine run so far. She was abreast of Banks's Peninsula in twenty-four hours' sail from this port, and off Mahia Peninsula iv ninetysix hours. After that the weather lulled ; and for four days calms and light airs were experienced, followed by a gale from tho N. E., which compelled her :.to bear up for Napier, but with the probability of being only very shortly detained.— Otago Daily Times.
